Wilson Center Pakistan Fellowhship

The Wilson Center has opened its competition for its next Pakistan Fellow. Now in its second year, the Fellowship is available to people from and currently based in Pakistan.

It provides a nine-month funded residency in Washington, DC for research and writing on public policy issues relevant to Pakistan and/or US-Pakistan relations.

Mongabay offers conservation reporting fellowship

Aspiring environmental journalists from tropical countries are eligible for a reporting fellowship.

Mongabay is accepting applications for the Y. Eva Tan Conservation Reporting Fellowship. The program will provide opportunities for journalists to report on critical environmental issues, gaining valuable training, experience, and credibility that will help them advance their careers in journalism and communications.

During the six-month fellowship, fellows will work directly with the fellowship editor to produce six stories.

The program will support up to 12 fellows per year – six at Mongabay’s global English bureau and six at its Spanish-language bureau, Mongabay-Latam. Work is remote.

Eligible applicants must be from a low- to upper-middle income tropical country, as classified by the World Bank.

Fellows will receive a US$3,000 stipend.

Reuters Institute offers journalism fellowships at Oxford

Midcareer journalists can apply for a fellowship at Oxford University, United Kingdom.

The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism seeks applicants for its Journalist Fellowship Program, which will begin October 2024, January 2025 and April 2025, and last three or six months.

The program gives visiting journalists from around the world an opportunity to critically reflect upon their profession, to research a subject of their choice under the supervision of an academic specializing in that area, and to enjoy the breadth of academic, cultural and social life at the University of Oxford.

Applicants must have at least five years of journalism experience and strong English skills.

Most Journalist Fellowships are fully-funded and cover living costs and accommodation.

The deadline is Feb. 19, 2024.
